Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) is a non-surgical cosmetic tattoo procedure that gives the appearance of a closely-shaven head or fuller hair density.
The Process: Tiny dots of pigment are deposited into the scalp using micro-needles. The dots mimic the look of natural hair follicles or stubble.
The Purpose: It's commonly used to create the look of a buzz cut for men who are bald or balding. However, SMP is not just for bald men, it can add density to thinning hair most commonly with women i.e. temple areas, top of scalp, sections where you part your hair, etc. It is also great for camouflaging scars from hair transplants, burns or injuries and used to cover conditions of Alopecia.
The Results: The results are long lasting, typically 4-6 years depending on skin characteristics and daily activities.
While SMP doesn't regrow hair, it definitely boosts confidence and aesthetics in a safe procedure.
